An expert in trial preparation, dispositive motions, discovery matters and appeals, Candace Shirley’s practice is concentrated on complex civil litigation, funeral and cemetery litigation, employment law, business disputes and construction related matters.
Candace Shirley graduated magna cum laude from the University of Santa Clara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Empire Law School in 1983 and was admitted to the California State Bar the same year. She is admitted to practice in all California trial and appellate courts as well as the Northern California District of the U.S. District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Prior to joining our firm in 2009, Ms. Shirley spent twenty-six years practicing law in Sonoma County. She has extensive experience in many aspects of civil litigation, with specific concentrations in contractual disputes, real property issues such as easements, agreed boundaries, purchase/sale agreements, secured property transactions and title insurance coverage, construction law and defect claims, product liability matters, class actions and insurance coverage and bad faith claims. She is an expert in trial preparation, dispositive motions, discovery matters and appeals.
Ms. Shirley was made a partner in Gurnee Mason Rushford Bonotto & Forestiere in 2019. Both as an associate and now as a partner of Gurnee Mason Rushford Bonotto & Forestiere LLP, her practice is concentrated on complex civil litigation, funeral and cemetery litigation, employment law, business disputes and construction related matters.
