Mr. Magarian was born in Mountain View, California. He graduated from the University of California at Davis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science in 1984. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1987 and was admitted to the California State Bar the same year. He is admitted to practice in all trial and appellate courts in California and the United States District Court, Northern, Eastern and Central Districts. Mr. Magarian is also a member of the Placer County Bar Association, Sacramento County Bar Association and the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada. He is a past President of the Placer County Bar Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Sacramento County Bar Association.
After several years of litigation practice in the San Francisco Bay Area concentrating on construction defect, toxic torts and product liability defense, Mr. Magarian moved to the Sacramento area in 1998, continuing his focus on the defense of construction defect, personal injury and unfair competition litigation. He successfully represented developers, manufacturers, general contractors and a variety of trades in complex litigation and binding arbitration. In 2003, Mr. Magarian joined our firm.
As a partner of Gurnee Mason Rushford Bonotto & Forestiere LLP, his practice is concentrated on complex civil litigation, funeral and cemetery litigation, employment law, business disputes and construction related matters. He has successfully tried a number of cases dealing with cemetery and funeral home operations and employment issues.
Mr. Magarian regularly provides training and seminars to clients and other lawyers on various subjects related to litigation avoidance, sexual harassment, civil litigation and employment issues.
